About

Kings Cross Development Forum was set up in 2002 by the planning department at the London Borough of Camden (formally Camden Council Culture and Environment Directorate Planning Division) in association with London Borough of Islington.

The Forum helps people living and working in King’s Cross to have a say in the future of the area and the development of the old railway lands. Mainly made up of organisation representatives and individuals from the local communities, it was facilitated by Camden’s Kings Cross Team, telephone 020 7974 3236, email. Agendas and consultations have been planned by local residents and businesses from Camden and Islington, mainly through a co-ordinating group elected each year. Once the master plan for the site was give Outline planning permission the Forum has been more concerned with detailed proposals for the various blocks on the site, access, appearance and the impact on surrounding areas. Further along the way significant contributions for community benefit will become payable by the developers; that is when close scrutiny can be given to the way it might be spent.

This is the website run by the Kings Cross Development Forum.  The old site is still occasionally maintained by Camden Council but has no Forum notes since May 2008.  This one is volunteer-run following Camden Council’s decision to cut administrative support for the KXDF, just when the community needs it the most.
