KX Station

King’s Cross station is at the heart of the busiest transport interchange in the country, it suffers from congestion during peak hours and shops and passenger facilities are limited. Network Rail and the Department of Transport are investing over £400 million in redeveloping the station. It will be extended through a new western concourse, three times the size of the current concourse area and all current entrances will be closed. The canopy at the Euston Road entrance will be removed after 2012 revealing the original arched frontage. A new public space will be created where the canopy now stands. Passengers will enter through the Western Concourse and exit via Euston Road.
